Director of Accounting

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Leasing industry located in Garden City, New York. The role revolves around managing accounting operations and financial planning and analysis (FP& A) in an office-based environment. As a Director of Accounting, you will be hands-on, involved in monthly closing activities and account reconciliation, utilizing tools such as Great Plains and Excel.

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
• Engage in hands-on monthly closing activities and ensure accurate financial results
• Conduct account reconciliation activities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Utilize Great Plains and Excel for various accounting and financial planning and analysis tasks
• Manage the budgeting process, tracking expenses against budgets
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Implement and monitor the company’s accounting software to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance and streamline accounting processes
• Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s financial forecast and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Utilize CRM to maintain accurate customer records and resolve customer inquiries.
• Demonstrated proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
• Experience with Concur software is necessary
• Proficient in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• In-depth understanding and experience with Accounting Functions
• Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• A strong background in Auditing is required
• Demonstrated expertise in managing Budget Processes
• Previous experience in a leadership role in the Leasing industry is preferred
• Relevant certification or degree in Accounting or a related field is required
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
