Description:
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Leasing industry located in Garden City, New York. The role revolves around managing accounting operations and financial planning and analysis (FP& A) in an office-based environment. As a Director of Accounting, you will be hands-on, involved in monthly closing activities and account reconciliation, utilizing tools such as Great Plains and Excel.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Engage in hands-on monthly closing activities and ensure accurate financial results
- Conduct account reconciliation activities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Utilize Great Plains and Excel for various accounting and financial planning and analysis tasks
- Manage the budgeting process, tracking expenses against budgets
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Implement and monitor the company’s accounting software to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance and streamline accounting processes
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s financial forecast and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Utilize CRM to maintain accurate customer records and resolve customer inquiries.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
- Experience with Concur software is necessary
- Proficient in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- In-depth understanding and experience with Accounting Functions
- Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- A strong background in Auditing is required
- Demonstrated expertise in managing Budget Processes
- Previous experience in a leadership role in the Leasing industry is preferred
- Relevant certification or degree in Accounting or a related field is required
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
