Description:

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Controller in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accounting records, managing audit preparation, preparing financial statements, and handling various operational issues. Additionally, you will manage new projects, oversee daily operations, and serve as a liaison between different offices.

The ideal candidate will have skills in Accounting Functions, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Property Management, QuickBooks, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Finance, Financial Statement, Grant Accounting, Microsoft Excel, Reporting.

  • Proficiency in Accounting Functions
  • Experience in Benefits Administration
  • Knowledge of Payroll procedures
  • Familiarity with Property Management
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Knowledge of Auditing procedures
  • Background in Finance
  • Ability to prepare Financial Statements
  • Experience with Grant Accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in generating Report

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update accounting records, including cash management, invoicing, payables, and other financial reports.
  • Manage audit preparation and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and submit IRS tax-990 forms and quarterly financial statements.
  • Prepare experimental contracts and assist startups with accounting and payroll.
  • Oversee building management for accounting and daily operational issues.
  • Handle fiscal management, accounting and management issues, and grant applications and invoicing.
  • Manage new projects, including payroll, budgeting, planning, and monthly disbursements.
  • Attend board meetings and prepare presentations on behalf of the organization.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and various offices, maintaining records for the office.
