Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, onboarding, and training strategies for AWC Support Service Professionals (SSPs) and Managing Employers (MEs). Duties also include development and distribution of the AWC Personnel Handbook, SSP and ME training curriculum, and coordination of SSP and ME training. Responsible for management of unemployment claims and worker’s compensation. This position must be an expert on HR laws, funder and program requirements, and all agency HR benefits, policies and practices.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources preferred. At least 5 years minimum related experience (HR and Supervisory) and employment related experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating AWC HR Manager and all other AWC HR staff.
- Advise SSPs, MEs, and AWC Program Staff on employment laws, policies, and practices. Ensures agency’s policies and practices comply with all laws.
- Manage the development and implementation of AWC HR policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that they align with all laws, regulations, funder requirements and agency policy and procedures.
- Track onboarding and training of SSPs and proactively address delays in SSP onboarding.
- Ensure compliance with HR confidentiality and HIPAA .
- Collaborate to resolve SSP employment issues, support performance improvement strategies, provide counseling, and when necessary, participate in terminations.
- Manage all aspects of agency benefits available to the SSPs and attend and actively participate in monthly agency broker meetings. Assist with yearly open enrollment for benefits; act the liaison between the employees and the insurance brokers to answer questions and resolve benefit related questions.
- Ensure timely and appropriate response to complaints regarding SSPs.
- Analyze SSP and ME performance and incident trends.
- Analyze data related to worker’s compensation claims and make recommendations to address claims and reduce future claims. Process and administer all Worker’s Compensation claims, leave of absence requests, FMLA and disability paperwork for SSPs.
- Process and manage unemployment claims and attend UE hearings.
- Serve as a primary back up to the Arc Traditional HR Director in their absence and arrange for back up coverage for AWC HR responsibilities to ensure HR coverage at all times.
