POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for all home and away radio broadcasts including the development, production, and administration of talk shows, pre-game shows, play by play broadcast and post-game shows/interviews. Also responsible for implementing all community and media relations for the organization. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance and travel to all road games required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs as the head radio broadcaster for the organization for all home and away games including potential playoff games for the current season, while serving as the liaison between the organization and the flagship station.
Responsible for all internal and external publicity/communications for the team to include the recording of in-house promotional spots and or radio spots for clients of the organization, while also serving as the liaison between the organization and all local, regional and national media outlets.
Responsible for the development and distribution of all press releases for the organization and coordinate all press conferences for the organization as necessary.
Responsible for the development, production, distribution and maintenance of the team’s media guide, team record book, and all team’s statistical information.
Responsible for preparing and printing of daily statistical insert for the souvenir program and for the production and distribution of the daily game notes to the home and visiting team’s field managers, coaches and visiting radio broadcaster.
Responsible for assisting the NEBCO, Inc. marketing department by writing content for the souvenir program to include player feature stories and player bios.
Responsible for the updating and distribution of the team’s current roster to home and visiting field managers, coaches, home team general manager and visiting teams radio broadcaster, while also assuring home team’s current roster is updated on team website, league statistician website including updating player headshots and bios.
Actively sells sponsorships, season tickets, radio packages and group tickets.
Assists the General Manager in all operational matters related to the success of the franchise.
Participates in all organizational meetings.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Assist and supervise social media interns.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or actively pursuing degree in broadcasting, communications or related field; and
  • one year previous related experience; or
  • an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop, or other comparable software.
  • Previous experience in video and audio editing.
  • Must be able to learn and become familiar with new software and equipment.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to organize and complete work in a deadline-driven atmosphere with ability to handle multiple projects, concurrently, timely and efficiently.
  • Be able to make quick decisions under short deadlines or with last minute changes.
  • Knowledge of lighting, green screen setups, and interview setups.
  • Must be able to meet the business commitment and hours required of the job during the baseball season.
  • Must model superior customer service behavior.
  • Must be able to produce high quality, accurate work while coordinating a sporting venue and schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop account strategies, and negotiate creative solutions.
  • Must understand the need for a sense of urgency during certain times of the year.
  • Must be flexible regarding work schedule and be able to meet the demands of a small office.
