Description:

Summit Design + Build is actively seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to oversee and enhance our company’s business development activities across the Midwest and beyond. Based in our Chicago office, this pivotal role reports directly to the Vice President of Corporate and is crucial in shaping our strategic growth and enhancing our market position in the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in architecture, engineering, construction, or project management.
  • 10+ years of sales and/or business development experience within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry.
  • Proven track record with solution selling, managing long sales cycles, and successfully closing opportunities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive team performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Define long-term strategic goals and develop solid sales & business development plans in collaboration with the Summit executive team.
  • Oversee and direct all business development activities, ensuring a robust pipeline of opportunities through effective prospecting, networking, and client engagement.
  • Lead negotiations, close deals, and manage key customer relationships to maximize revenue and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to introduce Summit’s capabilities and value proposition, enhancing brand recognition and market presence.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to stay informed of market conditions and establish relationships with prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and management, to enhance sales opportunities and achieve business goals.
