Description:
Look to the future – what do you see? At WildLand, we have a 200-year vision for the Scottish Highlands, focused on landscape-scale conservation and regeneration that creates space for nature to heal, grow, and thrive. Our team is at the heart of what we do – pathfinders, change-makers, and explorers, enchanted by a life on the wild side. We are creatives, unafraid to do things differently, dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences for our guests. Remarkable people, whose passion and energy, along with the support of our founders, is the driving force behind bringing our vision to reality. Does that sound like you?
“In nature, nothing stands alone. The whole supports the parts, and at the same time, the parts support the whole. And they do so effortlessly. “
Responsibilities:
As a leader and change agent, you will play a pivotal role in the growth of WildLand, contributing not only to Conservation but also to Build & Heritage and Hospitality. Aligned with our Brand and Marketing Strategy, you will provide direction to ensure our conservation ethos is woven into every aspect of what we do, inspiring our people, guests, visitors, and stakeholders to create a positive, lasting impact.
This is a role of great importance to us, with a strong focus on delivering tangible results, generating public benefits, and creating new opportunities through the restoration of healthier, more resilient habitats, ecosystems, and landscapes.
You will build on the significant progress we’ve made in our Conservation approach and explore ways to refine our thinking and processes, while strengthening relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Our aim is to expand our efforts, reach wider audiences, and collaborate with others to make a greater impact on our landscapes. We also seek to inspire and partner with like-minded individuals and organisations to initiate their own conservation projects. As stewards of WildLand, our ongoing goal is to become a globally respected thought leader in all aspects of regeneration—going beyond ecosystem rehabilitation to include building restoration, community engagement, promoting sustainable economic growth, and developing capacity in our rural environment.
While our ambitions are bold, our actions are often simple in intention and execution—whether it’s keeping our land and shorelines clean or embedding our ethos into the experiences we provide for guests and visitors. Our collective litter-picking efforts are just one example of this philosophy in action.
In this role, you will define our Conservation Strategy for the continued enhancement of our land and water conservation projects across Scotland. You will set the agenda for conservation projects and initiatives aimed at protecting and enhancing the natural capital of our land and water. Additionally, you will contribute actively to local, national, and international efforts on conservation and climate change. A key responsibility will be positioning our carbon and natural capital assets for optimal use, ensuring that we can continue to invest where it matters most.
Our aspiration is to be among the global leaders in regeneration, expanding our work to include Built Restoration and Capacity Building, breathing new life and opportunities into the landscapes and communities of the Highlands.
You will be joining a team full of ambition, energy, and a shared commitment to success
