As this is a hybrid role, we’re looking for people within a commuting distance of our Leeds, Manchester or London office and who are flexible to travel to client sites and CreateFuture regional offices. We are very flexible and trust you to manage your own schedule to balance face-to-face time with clients, colleagues and working from home.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE AND TEAM:

We’re looking for a Director of Engineering with a strong background in engineering management and people leadership and a proven track record of delivering high quality products and services to lead the operations of our 300-strong Engineering department and be the key link between our senior engineering leadership and executive leadership team, focused on optimising engineering processes, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and fostering a strong engineering culture.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Leads and manages the engineering leadership team to ensure high performance and productivity whilst developing our Capability Leads
  • Develops and implements engineering strategies that align with the company’s goals and client needs
  • Collaborates closely with executive leadership and other directors across CreateFuture to ensure engineering is aligned with the rest of the business
  • Defining and owning engineering KPIs to measure and drive team performance and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Responsible for engineering budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support team needs and project requirements
  • Acts as an escalation point for all of engineering, troubleshooting operational and client-related issues
  • Ensuring that changes are communicated effectively and efficiently across all capabilities to maintain alignment, transparency, and a cohesive work environment
  • Shaping early-stage client engagements by ensuring we are well-positioned to deliver and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to foster trust and long-term partnerships
  • Maximise gross margin and utilisation by optimising project planning, resource allocation, and operational efficiencies
