Responsibilities:

As Director of Enterprise Compute and Storage, you will set the strategy and drive execution in a large, distributed, complex IT environment. Leading a 24/7/365 global team, you’ll ensure our technology aligns with Ascension’s business needs. This role requires a strategic mindset, deep technical expertise, and exceptional leadership skills.
The successful candidate will manage the server and cloud operations and infrastructure team, reporting to the Senior Director of IT Infrastructure. The Director will manage, coach, and mentor global infrastructure team members and foster a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and operation of cloud, on-premise, and data center solutions.
  • Guide the transformation to a multi-cloud environment that aligns with the company’s operational and strategic needs.
  • Collaborate closely with technology providers to ensure our IT infrastructure meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.
  • Performs long range planning; assists with technology budget development; identifies departmental and organizational technology goals, and needs.
  • Forge partnerships with cross-functional global teams to determine forward-looking strategies for the infrastructure team
  • Lead all infrastructure requirements for mergers and acquisitions, develop and seamlessly execute integration strategies
  • Develop, manage, and track the global infrastructure team’s annual budget
  • Partner with senior executives to identify opportunities for technology-driven innovation and optimize resource allocation
  • Translate corporate objectives into quantifiable IT plans with clear project plans and timelines
  • Motivate team to embrace best practices and support transformation via a robust project management approach
  • Develop annual server and storage infrastructure operations vision, goals and objectives
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security Team to maintain compliant and secure systems and processes
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of new technology on existing and future capacity and provide advice and guidance on appropriate technological solutions
  • Develop, maintain and implement a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions
  • Coordinate all infrastructure changes with appropriate teams to ensure uninterrupted service
  • Acknowledge and resolve business, user, and system-generated production issues for assigned infrastructure within established service levels
  • Maintain documentation for all operational/support processes and automate repetitive processes where appropriate
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external technology partners to prioritize, estimate and complete projects in support of business
  • Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud, including Cloud FinOps.
  • Bring M&A experience to lead efforts for system divestiture, ensuring seamless alignment of systems and processes.
  • Performs necessary software engineering and quality assurance functions including system security, software configuration management and system software evaluation.
