Description:

The Director of Finance oversees and provides consistent leadership in the financial areas of the organization by taking ownership of all fiscal and regulatory matters. Responsibilities include providing accurate and timely financial reporting; profitability of the business, including planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations; ensuring compliance with all federal, multi-state and local regulations and Standard Operating Procedures; and day to day supervision and execution of accounting transactions, including training of finance and support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience; CPA Certificate a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial management practices, including supervision of others in Senior Management role.
  • Proficient with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial projections and accounting services, prepare growth plans, and direct finance and support staff.
  • Accomplish human capital strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
  • Develop organizational strategies by contributing financial information, analysis and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Establish finance and operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.
  • Work with company leadership to develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; and accumulating capital to fund expansion.
  • Coordinate, plan and execute monthly Board Meeting.
  • Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; managing property leases and renewals; and developing action plans.
  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvement on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Coordination and cooperation with external financial partners for tax preparation and strategy, insurance and banking relationships; IT and related systems.
  • Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
