DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND HR
Organization: Rocky View Foundation (RVF)
Location: Airdrie, AB
Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer
Employment Type: Part Time - 24 hours (3 days) per week
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Finance and HR is a key member of the RVF executive team, responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial and human resources functions. This role is integral to ensuring the organization’s financial health and operational effectiveness while also fostering a supportive and compliant work environment. The Director will provide strategic financial guidance, manage the organization’s financial operations, lead HR initiatives to attract, develop, and retain talented staff, and manage a small team of finance and HR professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance and human resources management, preferably in a non-profit or affordable housing setting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Experience with HR best practices, employment law, and talent management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial and HR software systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and foster a positive organizational culture.
