Description:

A rare opportunity has arisen in the North East and Yorkshire Regional team within NHS England for a Director of Finance.
This is a key leadership role in the regional health system, with responsibility, in conjunction with other leaders from across the professional spectrum, to lead teams to support systems to deliver improved quality, productivity and performance for the region’s population, in line with NHS and other governmental priorities.
The Director of Finance is responsible for leading and overseeing the wide range of financial responsibilities within the Region. The team works closely with our four Integrated Care systems, other regional and central team functions to ensure that patient centred services are delivered within the available financial resources. The role also helps to shape policy, ensures clarity of approach with our partner and approaches are in place to support our finance community.
The Region has a strong reputation for collegiate working with systems, organisations, and NHS England teams. This role is supported by a highly experienced and capable finance team covering a diverse portfolio including revenue, capital, policy, staff development and improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
The post holder, as a member of the regional executive team, will contribute towards the delivery of the regional objectives, including being the senior responsible officer for the overall annual planning process.
The role is likely to appeal to those keen to contribute towards the wide range of tasks performed by the NHS and be very much engaged with the current and emerging issues of the day.
The NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
Delivering value for money.
