POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Director of Finance at Wenatchee Valley YMCA serves on the leadership team and ensures successful fiscal operations for the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Manages all financial operation functions for the Y; ensuring that best accounting practices are followed in accordance with the Y?s Accounting Policies, GAAS, GAAP, and FASB requirements.
- Provides leadership and oversight to the annual budget process including issuing guidelines and procedures, training staff, auditing budgets, overseeing data input and preparing reports.
- Provides leadership and oversight on government contracts, grants and charitable donations.
- Utilizes financial analyses by program to provide insight into the organization?s operations.
- Implements appropriate systems and internal controls to adequately safeguard the YMCAs financial resources and to provide a solid basis for accurately reporting financial data.
- Manages reporting, quarterly and annual distribution calculations, and transfers with the Y?s third-party investments and Endowment. Prepares monthly/annual reconciliation for journal entries.
- Translates organizational goals into executable plans with accountable staff and volunteers by defining tasks, milestones, and priorities for programs or projects; manages all functions of accounting and business operations, ensuring that legal and audit requirements are met, and that best practices and maximum efficiency are obtained.
- Approves reconciled fund accounts. Approves journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. Maintains all journal entries ensuring the trial balance between the four funds balance.
- Monthly Reporting. Responsible for month-end and year-end closings and the preparation of statements and reports for the Board of Directors.
- Oversees the accounting and operation systems (SGA) to accomplish the proper recording and reporting of all operations, transactions, assets and liabilities of the YMCA for all funds.
- Reviews processes for invoices and check requests. Oversees electronic transfers and payments.
- Coordinates cash flow management and financial planning.
- Manages the annual independent audit for the preparation of financial statements and the IRS 990 tax form. Prepares or oversees the preparation of required audit schedules; maintains records; acts as liaison with audit team and YMCA Finance Committee.
- Supports the CEO in monitoring compliance with annual contracts, grants, insurance plans and federal assistance programs. Designs internal controls within the system and procedures to compliance with governing entities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
