Description:

Role: Director of Finance
Reports to: CEO
Location: Hybrid position in Austin, TX
Direct reports: Controller, Two Senior Accountants, Junior Accountant

DESCRIPTION

The Director Finance is a strategic leadership role in charge of the company’s Finance function. The Director of Finance is responsible for clear, accurate and timely reporting, efficient financial operations, strong analytics and KPI reporting to drive management decisions, managing board and investor relations, forecasting and budgeting, and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax and regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Recent experience in a rapidly growing, investor-owned company
  • Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent degree preferred
  • Over eight (8) years of managerial accounting and financial management experience required
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a high performing finance team
  • Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Manage reporting to board, investors, bank and other external parties
  • Oversee financial operations – payables, collections, payroll and related functions
  • Manage cash and working capital – ensure sufficient liquidity to fund company operations
  • Prepare annual budget and rolling quarterly forecasts
  • Become a trusted business partner to the management team – provide analytical support for key management decisions
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard for management, board and investors
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with bank and lenders
  • Manage relationships with insurance providers and ensure compliance
  • Manage tax planning and compliance with federal, state, local and other applicable taxes
