We’re seeking an independent, sales-driven individual with Hospitality & Tourism and/or Meetings & Events industry experience. The Director of Global Accounts will be responsible for landing and managing his/her own accounts, and guiding their clients every step of the way throughout their site selection process.

Position Title: Director, Global Accounts
Position Type: Flexible (set own hours)
Position Location: Remote - within Montreal

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong sales background with 3+ years of experience in the meetings and events industry;
  • Knowledge of Hospitality & Tourism and/or Event Planning industries;
  • Self-motivated with ability to work well both with a team and independently from a remote based home office;
  • High energy individual with a winning attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to recognize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Interpersonal skills - ability to deal professionally with individuals both internally and externally while resolving issues and meeting objectives and timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales lists to keep the Sales “funnel” full;
  • Generate and action client leads via cold calling, LinkedIn, etc.;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of market trends and best practices;
  • Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP) and distribute via Cvent to a list of potential venues that you’ve sourced based on the needs of the meeting/event;
  • Accurately summarize proposals from hotels/venues and present to client for review;
  • Negotiate guestroom rates, meeting space and liabilities with the hotels/venues;
  • Thoroughly review contracts against an approved list of clauses to ensure a strong and accurate final agreement between the venue and the client;
  • Organize and create site itinerary’s (travel & accommodation) for clients as needed;
  • Track sales progress, including but not limited to potential clients, sales calls, active client meetings/events, contract details, room nights booked, room nights actualized, commissions collected, and other numbers as required via CRM software Salesforce;
  • Build and maintain trust and relationships with clients, suppliers and partners, always responding in a timely manner;
  • Attend at least one industry event per month, and two FAM trips per year to be approved by SSS;
  • Recognize potential opportunities to up-sell our partnerships or cross-sell the services of sister company Sandbox Events Inc.;
  • Contribute to the continuous growth of the company - the goal is to grow our contracted guestroom numbers each year.

As the focus of this position in on building your sales portfolio, Strategic Site Selection will provide support with the following functions:

  • Request final pickup reports following all programs, invoice, and follow up on commission payments from hotels/venues;
  • Supply personalized marketing materials for use during prospecting;
  • Basic IT support;
  • A robust and growing list of partners with long-established relationships;
  • Arranging/hosting frequent events showcasing our services and the services of our partners to your prospects and clients;
