JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT COMMERCIALIZATION

Location: Remote, but close to Washington, DC is favorable
Job Type: Full-Time
Introduction: We are seeking a Director of of Government Commercialization to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in executing our company’s strategy in securing and fulfilling our government contracts and grants. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in government contract acquisition and management, an understanding of the proposal development process, and a track record of successfully managing business development activities in a fast-paced tech environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, with a significant focus on government contracts and grants.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and executing the full cycle of business development activities in a government or technology-focused environment.
  • Strong familiarity with CRM systems and pipeline management tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience drafting and/or managing successful SBIR/STTR grant applications and contract proposals.
  • Clear understanding of federal, state, and local government procurement processes and regulations.
  • Experience in the technology sector, particularly in areas relevant to national defense, space, environment, or health.

Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and contacts through effective CRM management. Analyze and prioritize opportunities based on strategic alignment and potential return.
  • Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and manage booth events at relevant conferences and trade shows to enhance company visibility and engagement with potential government clients.
  • Proposal Oversight: Identify viable government requests for proposals (RFPs) that align with company capabilities. Lead the drafting, review, and submission of proposals to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Contract Management: Identify and facilitate the steps required for successful acquisition and fulfillment of grants and contracts, including acquisition of necessary signatures from funding agencies, compliance with administrative requirements, and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
  • Teamwork: Work with a team of technical experts, ensuring effective communication and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within funding agencies and partner organizations to stay informed of potential upcoming opportunities and challenges.
