Description:

Health Concepts, Ltd., an organization with six skilled nursing facilities in Rhode Island, is seeking an experienced Human Resource professional to join our team. This position is available due to the upcoming retirement of the current, long-term Human Resource Director.
OPPORTUNITY: The Human Resources Director is responsible for providing HR support and oversight to business units in all HR functions including recruitment, employee benefits, employee relations, employee leave, performance management and legal compliance. This position will provide strategic and operational HR consultation and support all employees (500 headcount) in conjunction with the HR/Payroll Coordinator at each of six (6) locations.
REQUIREMENTS: Human Resource Degree or SHRM certification preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of human resource management. Strong knowledge of applicable Federal and State employment laws. At least 5 years working in Human Resources. Must have a great attitude, be a compassionate leader, and have excellent communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Human Resource degree or SHRM certification
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations such as FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEO, Workers Compensation and other employment legislation and regulations
  • Knowledge of staff employee benefits laws & regulations such as ACA, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Above average proficiency with technology, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and to define and solve problems.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Working knowledge of Paychex Flex payroll system a plus
  • Familiarity with the skilled nursing/long-term care industry a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Plan Administrator of the 401k plan
  • Monitor quarterly enrollment
  • Process distributions and rollovers
  • Responsible for weekly contribution file to recordkeeper
  • Prepare annual testing data
  • Member of the investment committee

Employee Relations

  • Assists department heads on all personnel actions including hiring, termination, promotions, evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • Provides guidance in accordance with all Federal and State employment laws and regulations as well as company policies

Employee Benefits

  • Facilitate the annual negotiation process for medical & dental insurance and other employee benefits
  • Conduct annual open enrollment
  • Oversees Employer Shared Responsibility compliance

Policies

  • Insures effective conduct of internal personnel inquiries and investigations, as provided for in the company policies and procedures
  • Member of the Handbook Committee to develop and maintain policies

HRIS/Payroll/Time & Attendance

  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarter, yearly reports to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and other regulations governing the long-term care industry
  • Provide ad hoc reports from all systems when required

Workers Compensation

  • Liaison for all claims from the various locations
  • Review monthly payment reports
