DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or an equivalent degree from a 4 year college/university, a PHR/SPHR designation preferred, 8+ years of experience at HR Director level. Must have 5+ years of direct responsibility for 2 or more functional areas of HR, 2+ years’ experience with HRMS/HRIS systems, and 8+ years’ experience supervising subordinate HR staff.
Leisure World of Maryland Corporation located in Silver Spring, Maryland, is seeking a Director Human Resources with a high level of professionalism, subject matter knowledge, and hands-on experience with HR practices, policies, and procedures. Must be well versed in employment law, developing policy, compliance, employee relations, recruitment, on/off boarding, benefits administration, compensation, training, leave management, and HRIS systems. Must possess problem solving and analytical skills and be an independent and creative thinker as well as possess strong organizational skills and an ability to handle, track, and execute multiple priorities and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
This position will develop and execute human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. In addition, the position will plan, organize and direct all aspects of HR functions, e.g., recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, policies, training, management development, organizational change, and employee and labor issues.
