Description:

Olsson Industrial Electric seeks a Director of Human Resources to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of Olsson’s mission and talent strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a busy construction office also a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, and initiatives to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administer human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and training and development.
  • Work with department leaders to identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Manage the Affirmative Action Plan and ensure the company remains in compliance.
  • Act as a Trustee/manager of the 401(k) plan-Attend quarterly meetings, work closely with the third-party administrators to oversee distributions, loans, compliance, testing and audits.
  • Monitor plan design and offerings.
  • Manage implementation and administration of a new HRIS.
  • Facilitate professional development and training.
  • Manage and respond to compliance audit requests.
  • Perform other functions as required/requested.
