Job Description:
Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel!
Opening Fall 2025, the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
The Director of Human Resources will serve as a key “cultural warrior” in a company where culture is protected at all costs. From establishing and executing a strategic plan to recruit a top-notch team dedicated to delivering exception service to building the Omni culture and taking care of Associates, this role presents a growth opportunity for a high potential Human Resources leader with a passion for people, strong expertise in all aspects of Human Resources and a servant leadership philosophy.
This position will oversee all areas of Human Resources, including strategic oversight, leadership and execution of HR initiatives, including recruitment, employee engagement and compensation to development, training and employee relations in keeping with Omni traditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for recruiting all management and hourly positions
  • Drive and reinforce the Omni culture beginning with the candidate experience through orientation and beyond to ensure a thriving, cohesive workforce
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to all HR Leaders in Development, Self-Directed Development Program participants and Executives in Development
  • Ensure compliance for general labor law and immigration issues, including OFCCP, DOL, EE01 and VETS 100
  • Administer the salary administration policies and programs; reviews and readjusts salary ranges annually; conduct local wage surveys; monitor merit increases
  • Stay abreast of all Federal and State laws and keeps management advised of changes which affect Associates and operations
  • Provide counsel and assistance to management regarding Associate problems dealing with supervision and administration
  • Represent the “Voice of the Associate” in the operation
  • Provide individual coaching to managers in the development of their staff and/or teams
  • Implement strategies to increase employee engagement and reduce employee turnover
  • Provide analysis of turnover trends and identify strategies to address
  • Champion associate recognition programs, including Cultural Warrior and annual awards
  • Oversee administration of the Associate Engagement Survey in conjunction with corporate team and lead follow-up on action plans

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years in an HR Senior leadership role
  • Prior union/collective bargaining experience preferred
  • Previous Executive Committee level experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully opening and managing a luxury property preferred
  • Proven leadership skills which support an environment of Associate growth and development, teamwork and exceptional customer service
  • Serve as a dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure
  • Be able to provide advice and counsel on all laws affecting Associates
  • Must be service and detail oriented, possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
