Description:

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES – RCS CONSTRUCTION

The Director of Human Resources for rcs is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a shared service model across the Doucet Development group of companies including planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the operations of the human resources, benefits and, payroll departments. They are responsible for developing, managing and implementing policies, programs and procedures, human resource planning, recruitment, training and development, compensation, benefit administration, employment programs, job evaluations, promotions and equal opportunity initiatives.

  • Manage a high performing HR Shared Services Team that drives results through a simple, easy to understand structure that makes HR adaptable and efficient.
  • Demonstrate ability to drive ongoing improvements through standardizing, automating and consolidating processes in support of HR strategy goals. Identify problem areas in service delivery processes, troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.
  • Drive operational performance and service excellence within the HR Shared Service team and monitor performance of the team against defined performance/quality standards.
  • Creation of a DEI strategy.
  • Active participation in corporate strategic planning and development.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits departments.
  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems.
  • Deliver full recruitment services including front end needs analysis, job postings, sourcing, interviewing, employee offers and exit interviews.
  • Identify training needs, selection, development and delivery of appropriate programs.
  • Develop and implement programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels.
  • Compile relative HR metrics, analyze, report and identify trends and provide recommendations.
  • Identify best practices and areas of improvement regarding payroll processes and procedures.
  • Promote motivation and team building to support positive morale; coach, counsel and guide staff with respect to employee relations matters.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of policies and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment legislation.
  • Be aware of innovative ways to retain and gain great talent in the organization, such as team building or state-of-the-art technology.

This position is suitable for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Human Resources or related field, in addition to proven experience as a Director of Human Resources or similar role.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in Payroll administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Jonas and BambooHR.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate needs and proactively address issues.
