Description:

SUMMARY

In conjunction with fellow leaders of The Orchards at Foxcrest, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for piloting development and implementation of Human Resource policies and programs as well as managing all aspects of employee relations and development. The Director of Human Resources will manage: all avenues of the employment process, organizational development, performance management, training, compensation and benefits administration as well as providing employee counseling services.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with a concentration or specialization in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Employment Law; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in health related field, health administration, business, or public policy. Complete annual state mandated training requirements (Regular In-services as well as any external training).

COMPUTER SKILLS

Uses e-mail to communicate with others internally and externally. Individual should also have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software to create reports, correspondence, and presentations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents and regulations from accreditation organizations, various West Virginia license boards, the EEOC, the Department of Labor, the Wage and Hour Division, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from the above agencies. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teamwork with the following and all other duties and responsibilities assigned.
1. Effective leadership that includes supporting core values, addressing zero tolerance behaviors and maintaining active communication with all employees.
2. Development, implementation and evaluation of Human Resource policies, programs, and procedures.
3. Administration, maintenance, and oversight of Payroll, Time & Attendance, Recruiting, and Onboarding systems.
4. Development, implementation, upkeep and evaluation of employee benefit programs.
5. Accurate maintenance and development of organizational job descriptions.
6. Creation of organizational development and employee training programs.
7. Act as a compliance resource to all supervisory personnel during all phases of the employment process including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, evaluating, disciplining and terminating employees.
8. Develop, maintain, and evaluate an organization wide communication system.
9. Coach and counsel employees on all matters with special oversight of problem resolution, employee safety, organizational culture integration.
10. Maintain employment records for current and former staff as applicable by federal and state law as well as company policy
11. Complete employee information requests and forms for internal affairs and by outside organizations, including but not limited to: Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment claims, Reference Checks, DHHR, etc.
12. Review and complete 401k compliance items.
13. Track and manage FMLA.
14. Track, manage, oversee OSHA log compliance

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensures logistical placement and onboarding of competent staff.
  2. Reviews all contracts for professional services, consultants, business associates, and other service providers that impact the Human Resources functions of The Orchards at Foxcrest.
  3. Attend meetings as required by the position.
  4. Establishes and maintain professional contacts in the community at large and may act as a liaison to external stakeholders.

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources Department of The Orchards at Foxcrest.
