Description:
Oberlin College seeks a Director of Inclusive Excellence in Undergraduate Research and STEM Education to promote the persistence and success of all students. This is a full-time 12-month, Administrative and Professional Staff position, who will oversee a team of four professional staff. The start date for this position is July 1, 2025.
Founded in 1833, Oberlin is a private four-year, highly selective liberal arts college near Cleveland, Ohio, and is also home to an outstanding Conservatory of Music. Together, the two divisions enroll approximately 3,000 students. Oberlin College was the first college in the US to make interracial education and co-education central to its mission. The College values a diverse, equitable and inclusive educational environment as essential to the excellence of its academic program. Oberlin aims to advance its historic role in inclusion by enhancing the climate for and success of a diverse population in STEM and other fields. Oberlin College is the recipient of two consecutive HHMI grants and is a leader among liberal arts colleges in the number of graduates who go on to earn PhDs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or PhD degree (preferred) in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of inclusive pedagogical practices and their application in higher education settings.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and commitment to promoting equity and inclusion.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to implement strategic initiatives.
- Personnel management experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with data (quantitative and qualitative) analysis and assessment.
