Novarc Technologies is looking for a Director of IT and IS to join our growing team and support the production of our cobots.
Summary: The Director of Information Technology and Information Systems (IT & IS) will be responsible for overseeing the IT and IS functions within the organization, ensuring that technology operations align with business goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have 10 -15 years of progressive IT/IS experience, with at least 5 years managing teams of 5 or more people, expertise in IT/IS project management, and international security compliance. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach who can lead a dynamic team in a rapidly growing business environment. The Director of IT & IS will play a crucial role in supporting IT/IS infrastructure, network management, data management, IT security, and compliance across multiple countries and legal frameworks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams of 5 or more.
  • Extensive experience with IT infrastructure, network management, and cybersecurity.
  • Proven experience in one or more of ISO27001, SOC2, NIST-CSF, NIS2, GDPR, COBIT, and other relevant compliance frameworks.
  • Proven experience in a rapidly growing business environment, preferably with hardware and software products.
  • Experience managing IoT technologies on customer premises, with a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of AI, data integration, CAD system databases, DevOps, SecDevOps, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple countries and legal frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning & Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the IT & IS strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive technology initiatives that support business expansion and operational efficiency.
  1. IT & IS Infrastructure & Operations:
  • Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, including network, servers, desktops, and other critical systems.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT and IS systems across multiple countries.
  • Support IoT technologies deployed on customer premises, leveraging both Windows and Linux environments.
  1. Budgeting & Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Forecast and plan for future IT investments, balancing innovation with cost control.
  • Responsible for Vendor selection, tracking and management.
  • Create business cases for new or upgraded technologies to support the business.
  1. Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks as could be required, including ISO27001, SOC2, NIST-CSF, NIS2, GDPR, or COBIT.
  • Develop advanced cybersecurity strategies to combat emerging threats, implementing robust defences and proactive measures.
  • Ensure all IT practices adhere to international privacy laws and ethical standards.
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organisation’s data and systems.
  • Lead Business recovery & continuity planning, Incident response development and testing.
  • Works with customer and supplier partners to ensure cyber security of the entire supply chain.
  1. Data Management & Integration:
  • Oversee the management and integration of data across the organization, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and security.
  • Champion the use of advanced data analytics and visualization tools to foster data-driven decision making.
  • Promote and support the integration of AI and data integration strategies to enhance business intelligence.
  1. Support & Service Management:
  • With the IT Manager, lead the IT support function, providing high-quality desktop support and customer service.
  • Implement best practices in IT service management to optimize efficiency and user satisfaction using ITSM or equivalent best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation of tools and practices that support effective remote work and digital collaboration across diverse and distributed global teams.
  1. Team Development:
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top IT talent.
  • Create training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the IT team.
  • Model Novarc’s values and corresponding behaviors; embed throughout the IT team
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the executive team to ensure IT initiatives support business needs and own the IT/IS roadmap to support the departments accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive digital transformation and technology adoption.
