Description:

NEXT STEPS

We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team. If you can’t tick every box on our job description, then we are still keen to hear from you and are open to supporting your development. That may be working part time or supporting you to gain experience in a specific area – we are a growing company and are able to adapt roles to reflect individual skills.
If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing business, then please apply immediately on our website. All we need some basic information and your CV, we will review all applications quickly and will respond to all applications.

ABOUT US

The APEM Group is a global environmental consultancy, we work with a range of clients including large corporations and governments to help them understand and solve a wide variety of environmental projects in the UK and globally. Our successful pioneering work has enabled us to grow and combine forces with other businesses who share our ethos and integrity. At our core, our people are working towards the protection of the environment across the globe

Responsibilities:

Are you passionate about developing employees’ knowledge and skills so they can realise their potential? Do you have a track record in building and nurturing an “always on” learning culture that permeates across an organisation? Do you have experience in working for a large business that delivers solutions through their people, in a sector which is ever changing and never formulaic?
As a leading environmental consultancy, APEM’s growth in UK markets and international expansion has led to the creation of a new Director of Learning and Talent Development. You will support our employees in their professional development, enhancing their scientific knowledge and skills to become experts in their field. The learning function has an established global LMS and a high appetite for learning. You will have accountability for systematically and creatively optimising this platform, connecting personal aspirations and organisational needs to create capability growth.
You will join a Senior People Leadership Group who are shaping our EVP, a key pillar of which is our commitment to talent development. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can work collaboratively with others. You should be able to evidence how your curious nature has allowed you to spot threads where learning can unlock problems or support wider initiatives. These initiatives could cross cut areas such as TA, retention, DE&I, client satisfaction, increased tender wins, engagement and internal comms to name a few!

If you want to support our scientists to deliver projects that support the natural world around us, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for applications that demonstrate:

  • How you have delivered a learning culture within an organisation which operates in a high change sector.
  • Strategic thinking and an architect for success, where delivery has been achieved through others (often non L&D staff)
  • A focus on outcomes, which aim high and demonstrate ROI on a range of outcomes
  • How your collaborative and curious manner has identified the need for an L&D lens to be applied to something where L&D wasn’t an obvious stakeholder.
  • Ideally some knowledge of other territories outside of the UK, either delivering projects or working with other L&D/People Leaders in territories (such as Australia and the Americas)

APEM Group is a remote first organisation, and we embrace flexible working. The People team meet at least twice a month in Manchester, and other Senior stakeholders also work within the North-West, therefore preference will be shown to candidates within the North of England who can easily reach Manchester.
We match this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, from private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
