DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS

Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Logistics oversees teams across Inbound, Forward, and Reverse Logistics. They are responsible for setting the strategic vision for the team, driving continuous improvement in our logistics processes, and elevating our overall level of service in delivering our products to our customers.
We take pride in our Logistics Team providing exceptional order execution and customer delivery; our team members are experts at working cross-functionally, solving problems, and ensuring we deliver the kind of service people rave about.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience working across all areas of logistics and multiple carrier modes.
  • Experience in customs and trade compliance.
  • Degree in Supply Chain and Logistics and/or Business Administration with relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in customs and trade compliance, shipping, and distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive efficient transportation operations with consistent year-over-year cost reductions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture a high-performing team with an emphasis on people development.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and technology.
  • Confident in multitasking, prioritizing, and organizing tasks to meet deadlines and increase efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments to align logistics and fulfillment operations with broader business objectives.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, process and policy development, and project management skills.
  • High level of experience with and understanding of SAP.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Teams, and Outlook).

Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Operations: Oversee all inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, carrier performance, and service level agreements (SLAs) while aligning with broader corporate objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, coach, mentor, and manage the logistics team with an emphasis on people development, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in meeting metrics and KPIs.
  • Carrier Management: Build and maintain a strong global carrier network, continuously improving transportation cost-effectiveness and service quality.
  • Process Improvements: Analyze logistics processes and industry trends, leading projects to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
  • Inbound Logistics: Oversee the import/export process, ensuring compliance with US and foreign government laws and regulations while expediting the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, including customs documentation and transportation. Ensure the team provides cross-functional visibility on inbound containers for effective warehouse planning.
  • Forward Logistics: Oversee all forward logistics across Wholesale, Digital, and Retail/Sales for Canada and the USA, while tracking and evaluating performance.
  • Reverse Logistics: Support the team in partnering with Resolutions to arrange return freight, where required. Partner with the Manager of Customer Care on insights/reporting for carrier claims and carrier-related escalations to improve service levels for customers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Customer Care, Warehouses, and Finance to resolve escalations, ensure smooth execution of orders, and improve customer experience while building strong cross-department relationships.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop contingency plans for logistics disruptions, including supply chain, geopolitical, or environmental risks.
