Job Title: Director of Marketing and Public Relations
Location: Alaska (USA) and Canadian Rockies (Canada)
Position Type: Full-Time Salaried
Job Overview: The Director of Marketing and Public Relations will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and PR strategies with a focus on revenue and performance. This role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality, a deep understanding of the travel and tourism industry, and the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team. The Director will work closely with senior management to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and drive growth across both locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in marketing and public relations, within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and PR campaigns.
  • A passion for travel, hospitality, and the outdoors.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing and PR strategies for both resorts.
  • Identify target markets and create tailored campaigns to attract diverse guest segments.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  • Marketing Campaigns:
  • Design and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, print, social media, and email marketing.
  • Utilize SEO, SEM, and PPC strategies to increase online presence and drive traffic to the resorts’ websites.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Management:
  • Work close with the Senior Director of Brand Strategy to ensure alignment of brand and voice.
  • Public Relations:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
  • Organize and manage media events, press tours, and other PR initiatives to generate positive coverage.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team, conducting regular evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensure continuous professional development for team members through training and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with our agency partners.
  • Event Promotion:
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for events and conferences held at both resorts.
  • Develop promotional materials and strategies to maximize attendance and engagement.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to ensure seamless execution and positive guest experiences.
  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the marketing and PR budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Track expenditures and ROI, making data-driven decisions to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
