POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: Bachelors degree in marketing
Knowledge: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database, Graphic Design, and Social Media programs
Experience: Three (3) years successfully managing a marketing department, preferably in the hospitality industry
Skills/Abilities: Expert assessment, analytical, and deductive skills; ability to deal with the public and handle media events on and off property; able to successfully lead and motivate marketing staff; strong social media utilization knowledge/skills; exemplary motivational, innovative, interpersonal and communication skills; keen organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; detail-oriented; able to follow-up and see deliverables through completion; willing to travel and represent the spa at marketing events; able to effectively correspond with guest(s); ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, and procedure manuals; possesses a team-focused attitude and effective people management ; able to thrive in a high stress work environment and turn it into positive energy in the department; Ability to react quickly to resolve problems or conflict

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

Effective and successful management of the marketing department, advertising, and promotional activities for Cal-a-Vie. Perform all duties in accordance with Cal-a-Vie policies and within the realm of the Cal-a-Vie Mission Statement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops, maintains, and proposes solid marketing strategies and plans in conjunction with the executive team and owners to meet spa objectives
  • Oversees reservationists and group sales to manage accounts and/or territories; solicits/books individual and group reservations
  • Evaluates customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes
  • Oversees marketing/internet marketing, sales, public relations, advertising, internet, promotional staff and contracted agency activities
  • Create an annual marketing plan and budget for the fiscal year, in conjunction with sales and public relations, that align with organizational objectives
  • Ensures all marketing activity is within budget
  • Maintains required records for efficient operation of the department (e.g., sales records, information in R&R, group sales, PR progress reports, and expense reports, etc.)
  • Develops, implements, and oversees a comprehensive strategy for group sales in conjunction with group sales manager
  • Oversees marketing projects (e.g., sending out press kits, photo shoots, etc.).
  • Manages media inquiries
  • Oversees all aspects of print production, direct mail, email, and web materials in conjunction with graphic designer
  • Performs research and secures guest speakers for brand theme weeks to augment the spa program and business
  • Research, scouts, and proposes potential promotion partners and branding opportunities
  • Organizes and acts as point of contact for photo shoots and filming projects
  • Conducts tours for potential clients and partners
  • Provides forecasts and revenue generating ideas during weekly sales meetings
  • Attends networking events to build relationships with potential partners
  • Research, coordinates, and attends events to promote the spa and develop business
  • Builds and maintains relationships with other organizations in the industry such as Spa Finder, DSG; submits material for their online promotions
  • Maintains and improves the Cal-a-Vie website and internet marketing to increase traffic
  • Meets deadlines and target performance requirements
  • Maintains a consistent high level of quality and guest service
  • Meets the attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies
  • Functions as the Cal-a-Vie representative on and off property and exhibits professionalism at all times
  • Manages the department staffing which includes, but is not limited to interviews, selections, retention, training, counseling, performance reviews, and terminations; effectively resolves and mitigates personnel issues
  • Ensures compliance with all labor, employment laws, and health and safety regulations; enforces policies and procedures consistently and fairly and ensures timely reporting of all incidents
  • Participate in ongoing safety seminars and comply with all safety regulations
  • Maintain thorough documentation for personnel related discussions
  • Performs and enforces all responsibilities, policies, and procedures in the Cal-a-Vie Employee Handbook
