Description:

Sonas Nursing Homes is hiring a Director of Nursing for our Melview nursing home in Clonmel, Co Tipperary. This job is for someone who wants to join a busy and well-established nursing home group. The Director of Nursing will play a key role in leading our nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This position requires strong leadership abilities, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in nursing practice.

REQUIREMENTS;

  • Registered with An Bord Altranais and possess an active PIN.
  • Up-to-date certifications in Infection Control, Manual and Resident Moving & Handling, Medication Management, CPR, Dementia, and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (training available if needed).
  • A post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent.
  • A post-registration qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of previous work experience in a management role is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in nursing older individuals within the past six years is necessary.
  • A minimum of six years of post-registration nursing experience is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care to older individuals.
  • Possession of a valid Irish Drivers License and access to personal transportation are essential requirements.
  • Previous Nursing Home Experience Essential

  • Serving as a resource to nursing staff in planning and implementing care.
  • Providing leadership and clinical supervision to all staff is essential for enhancing standards and fostering a positive team morale.
  • Establishing and upholding high standards of professional practice and ensuring the nuring home environment meets the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of residents.
  • Promoting, encouraging, and practicing person-centered care which is essential for ensuring the well-being of residents.
  • Flexibility is required, as availability to work night and weekend shifts may be necessary.
