DIRECTOR OF NURSING
We are currently recruiting for the central role of Director of Nursing for our beautiful and popular home CareChoice Trim- a fantastic 174 bed nursing home ithat is renowned in the area of its exceptional care and atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Director of Nursing to be an integral part of CareChoice’s strategic vision.

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership to ensure high standards of nursing care in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the daily clinical and operational management of nursing homes staff, ensuring optimal staffing levels and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority) standards and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans for residents.
- Lead initiatives to improve the quality of care, resident safety, and overall well-being of residents in the nursing home.
- Provide mentoring, support, and professional development opportunities to nursing staff, ensuring ongoing education and training.
- Manage and monitor clinical performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and reporting any deficiencies.
- Oversee the recruitment, induction, and performance management of nursing staff.
- Work closely with senior management to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with the strategic goals of the nursing home and CareChoice.
- Handle resident and family concerns in a compassionate and timely manner, ensuring their satisfaction and trust in care services.
- Ensure the nursing home operates within budgetary constraints while maintaining high standards of care.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in nursing practice, healthcare regulations, and resident care to ensure the nursing home maintains an innovative and current approach.
- Participate in health and safety assessments and ensure that the facility meets all required health and safety standards.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Senior Nursing Management position in Care of the elderly (within the last 6 years).
- Post-graduate management qualification
- Currently registered with NMBI
- Proven track record of clinical, leadership and people skills
- Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations and the ‘HEALTH ACT 2007’
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Proven track record in decision-making ability
- Qualification in Gerontology is desirable
