POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to lead the commissioning of our new manufacturing plant in Bellingham, Washington, and oversee its operations post-launch. This is a critical leadership role, requiring expertise in plant setup, operational excellence, and team management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in plant commissioning and/or manufacturing operations, ideally in textiles, packaging, or lumber-related industries.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and achieve operational excellence.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a strong asset.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Current residence in the Lower Mainland, BC, or willingness to relocate.
- Willingness to travel frequently or relocate to Bellingham, Washington.
- Valid passport and ability to obtain a work visa (visa-related costs will be fully covered by Abbeywrap).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-border business environment.
