DarkVision, part of Koch Engineered Solutions, is looking for a Director of Operations who will oversee our asset integrity data analysis operations center located in North Vancouver, BC. This position is accountable for the performance of the 70+ person (and growing) team of analysts, team leads, managers, and support staff. This innovative, fast-paced team is responsible for analyzing petabytes of proprietary acoustic inspection data and building it into actionable inspection reports for our customers.

This position is located at DarkVision’s head office in Vancouver, Canada and is in-office full time. The successful candidate will report directly to our COO, work closely with our VP Sales, VP Engineering, and Director of Product, and have significant exposure to senior leadership throughout the organization.
Our Team
DarkVision uses state-of-the-art proprietary acoustic imaging technologies to provide asset inspection services to industrial clients. Our Data Analysis team meticulously analyzes massive ultrasound datasets using our 3D data visualization software, resulting in critical insights that enable our clients to make data-informed decisions on the operations and maintenance of multi-million-dollar industrial assets.

WHO YOU ARE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Engineering, Business, or Technical Degree
  • Experience leading and scaling teams of significant size (~30-100 people), preferably service or project operational in nature

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop the Team: At DarkVision, leaders lead from the front and are relentlessly resourceful in their drive to win. As the Director of Operations, you will be at the forefront of advancing a high-performance, results driven culture within the data operations team. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding the team through significant growth - both in terms of customer project deliveries and headcount.
  • Develop and Implement Fit-for-Purpose Processes: You will be responsible for implementing and optimizing end-to-end processes that ensure seamless delivery of our well-inspection data-analysis reports. From initial sale, through field data collection, to final analysis and delivery, this team is the nexus of information. Ensuring that communication and data paths are reliable is of utmost importance to delivering customer projects on time and with highest degree of accuracy.
  • Obsess Over Operational Excellence: You will be accountable for conceptualizing, planning, and executing operational excellence initiatives across the team to ensure timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This will involve performance tracking of the team and using select KPIs to improve processes, procedures, systems, tools, automation, and people.
  • Improve Quality Control and Assurance: This team is responsible for turning the world’s largest ultrasound datasets, captured by our proprietary tools, into actionable insights for our customers. We deal with significant amounts of data and must turn around projects on defined timelines for some of the world’s largest industrial organizations. With that comes a duty to maintain the utmost quality of our reports and analyses. That’s where you come in. You will be responsible for maintaining and elevating our high bar for service quality.
