Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Optimize human, material, equipment and facilities resources to meet and exceed customer demand and company’s operational and functional objectives.

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

  • Oversee and maintain daily operational activities and facilities management of the Regina locations (East and West), holding team members accountable to performance goals in safety, quality, efficiency, costs and continuous improvement.
  • Direct, develop and inspire all Regina Production staff.
  • Guide and develop all Production Leaders to motivate their staff, set priorities, monitor safety and quality, and effectively communicate.
  • Ensure all Production staff have the resources and training needed to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Recommend and implement compensation and work environment strategies to attract and retain talent.
  • Work closely with senior executives and corporate functional leaders to lead the Regina location with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
  • Develop and execute management policies and initiatives that create operational efficiency and increased quality and productivity in accordance with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Develop and maintain communication with senior executives, other departments and the Production Union.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and other departments in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans and budgets.
  • Enforce and execute the rules and regulations of the collective bargaining agreement for the unionized workforce.
  • Participate in grievance procedures set in the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Participate in the negotiation of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Enforce that all human rights, employment regulations, safety regulations are rigorously followed as per Canadian laws, company policies and standards.
  • Exemplify core values of Degelman Industries.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Superior knowledge of multiple production/manufacturing functions and principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
  • Innovative in the application of technology, including computer systems and software, manufacturing equipment and communication and training tools.
  • Keen understanding of people, and an ability to motivate, direct and teach.
  • Ability to develop trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to excel in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.

  • Timely decision-making and delegation skills.
