We are looking for an outgoing, determined, and driven Director of Operations to join our expanding team!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, operations management, business management or equivalent
- 5-7 years previous operations management experience
- A strong working knowledge of regulations and legal guidelines as they relate to the logistics industry
- Ability to supervise, coach and develop staff
- Experience with forecasting, scheduling, and real-time operations management
Responsibilities:
- Oversee onboarding of new shippers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction is being achieved
- Build and maintain strategic business relationships with core carriers
- Represent the Company to carriers, ensure ongoing carrier engagement
- Oversee all company request for proposals (RFPs)
- Support the Carrier Compliance team in rectifying carrier issues and settling claims
- Ensure communication or real-time business updates are provided to employees within the Operations department
- Develop contingency plans as needed; to ensure tracking loads are not compromised
- Review ongoing performance results to KPIs and targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed.
- Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position
- Create training program and maintain and update to business needs
- Projects a favourable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavour
- Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned
- Maintain a qualified staff
- Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned
- Determine standards of performance as a basis to review progress or personnel assigned
- Recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals
- Ensure proper training, of personnel assigned
- Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity
- Develop individuals for future advancement
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
