DIRECTOR OF PRICING
Midland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Director of Pricing at our head office location in Dieppe, NB. The selected candidate will be an experienced professional with strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.
Midland Transport has continued to expand its business offerings through growth and investment within its business lines. We require a candidate with the skills and ability to lead a team and ensure continued success in our business growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant discipline
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years leading or influencing teams, ideally in a transportation environment
- Accounting Designation CPA and/or experience in Finance considered an asset
- Effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to work with and lead teams within and outside of direct control
- Effective communicator of complex details to senior level management and company ownership
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative and strong team player
- Experience in building and maintaining pricing models, strategies and execution plans
- Excellent understanding of price and mix variance analysis and margin analytics
- Excellent capabilities of leveraging reporting tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx or similar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide customer proposals, contract management, rating and adjustments, billing and invoicing
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with overall business strategy and yearly plans and provide guidance and recommendations for profitable growth across all divisions and service offerings
- Drive continuous improvement around pricing processes and demand planning within the company, working closely with other departments and teams to achieve results
- Manage and refine customer, shipment, and lane price and mix analysis as well as the underlying tools, assumptions and models
- Ensure pricing proposals, contracts, and tender responses are accurate, timely, and professional
- Ensure rate accuracy and adherence to contracts
- Ensure pricing models are maintained and updated such that pricing is based on the most recent data available
- Work closely with senior management to provide insight on large opportunities, projects, and analytics work
