Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for leading and managing the project management function at the Morpeth site. The Head of Project Management will ensure that the highest standards of patient and customer centricity are applied and embedded, and that exceptional customer service is received in the delivery of all projects.
The main focus of this role is to successfully deliver on project commitments, on time and in full. To provide line manager and technical support to the project management team, to enable them to coordinate all technical, financial and service aspects of a project.
Through strong collaboration with other departments, the Head of Project Management will drive all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (and budgetary) performance within the project management team.
The individual will be a key change agent in driving performance, compliance and delivery within the project management team and wider technical services group.
The role requires a good understanding of all aspects of the Clinical Trial Supply Chain and drug product life cycle, including a sound understanding of Good Manufacturing and Clinical Practices.
The role requires competent use of Piramal Healthcare systems and SOPs.
Responsibilities:
- To lead the Project Management team, giving support and direction to enable the project management team to provide the highest standards of service to our customers. Ensuring that all people management actions are competed in a timely manner within the team, specifically in relation to the annual performance management process. Responsible for evaluating performance of individuals against KRA’s for the team.
- To operate an effective project management system to coordinate activities between departments on site. Identify and implement training needs and system improvements within the project management team. Makes continuous improvement a priority.
- Coordination and communication of all relevant activities to all relevant parties using suitable and effective planning tools, to ensure that milestones and critical activities and responsibilities are clear, and timelines and budget are achieved.
- Represent the site, with respect to projects and project management, in discussions with other Piramal sites and corporate functions.
- Lead or coordinate large and special projects both at Morpeth and, where linked to other PPS locations (Site Improvement Plan / Long term site plan).
- Provide oversight to the Project Management team for all aspects of current projects, including invoicing and contract management. Monitor change in scope of contracts and raise project change notifications where appropriate. Support the proposal writer in creation of change orders and new proposals where appropriate.
- Provision of knowledge and advice on technical aspects of new project set up and ongoing management.
- Own and participate in Operational Excellence Activities both within the Project Management function and cross functionally to introduce process improvements.
- Manage effective communication of project progress with clients, facilitate technical discussions and ensure appropriate escalation of problems and delays.
- Responsible for supporting the project managers in the identification concerns/risk and leads the drive to recover situations. Will drive the escalation/liaison process as required to minimise any negative impact to customers.
- Provide a point of escalation for projects and resolve issues to turn troubled projects around. Perform project performance reviews to drive improvements going forward.
