The Director of Procurement has the global responsibility to provide leadership and direction for all procurement activities related to Direct Materials across all plants and Business Units.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing enterprise-wide leadership and direction for direct commodity procurement that includes plastic resin and components.
  • Responsible for leading a team of procurement professionals.
  • Leads the development of commodity specific strategies partnering with product engineering and program management teams specifically focused on cost, supplier and contract management.
  • Establishes commodity specific KPIs and performance metrics and measures performance consistent with business needs.
  • Leads supplier evaluation and procurement contract negotiations for timely execution of programs.

Experience Required:

  • University Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and managing a procurement team within OEM/Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of automotive manufacturing operations is key to success in this role.
  • Must have good understanding of automotive program launch process, ideally advance procurement and supporting program launches.
  • Prior experience working in a multi-site operations/manufacturing setting highly desirable.
