Description:

We are seeking a Director of Qualifications to oversee, develop and maintain the qualifications framework within our Awarding Organisation.
This is a critical role within our Awarding Organisation, you will require substantial experience in assessment methodologies as well as a solid understanding of vocational and technical qualification contexts to ensure our qualifications portfolio, assessments and services meet our customer and market needs.
We are looking for a proven leader with team management, budgetary and strategic planning skills that has experience of working within an Awarding Organisation at a senior level. This role has responsibility for a directorate of circa 200 members of staff.
This Head of Function role has a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package that includes our head of function bonus scheme. You can be based anywhere across the UK for this role but you must be willing to travel to our London office (EC1) for team meetings when required.

Responsibilities:

As a Director of Qualifications your primary objective will be to strategically align qualifications with customer and industry needs, educational standards and regulatory requirements ensuring we meet customer and market requirements and that they are delivered to the highest quality.
Managing 3 direct reports with overall responsibility of a directorate of circa 200 you will lead the teams that are responsible for the development of our qualifications, the production of our assessment materials as well as the quality of marking, moderation and verification to provide valid and reliable results.
Additionally you will have accountability for the development, maintenance, assessment and quality assurance of all our assessments and qualifications whilst ensuring that the development of new qualifications meet our regulatory and government requirement. You will also lead the teams within the directorate, driving a culture of technical assessment expertise and innovation as well as continuous business improvement.
