Job Description
We currently have an unprecedented opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to join Minor Hotels as our Director of Real Estate.
In this newly established position, you will oversee the performance and strategic direction of Minor Hotels Real Estate operations (MINT Residential) across Australia. Leading our property sales and permanent rental teams, this position is ideally suited for an accomplished agency leader looking to contribute to a global and expanding hospitality organisation.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Departmental management of MINT Residential, including Build to Rent (BTR), Permanent Rentals and Property Sales Department, providing guidance, coaching and mentoring
  • Develop tailored strategies to enhance the performance and profitability of the real estate department, identifying areas for improvement, and providing guidance and support to improve performance
  • Monitor sales, leasing and property management trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, framework, processes (including policies and procedures), and personnel, designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organisation
  • Negotiate and execute a variety of property agreements, ensuring compliance with contract terms, operational best practices and relevant state legislation
  • Oversee compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the property department (including all licensing requirements, trust accounting laws and ensuring the correct forms are utilised)
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with all areas within the business, and ensure all key stakeholders (Executive Committee, MINT Residential Team, Relevant Building Managers, Head Office etc) are kept informed of key developments.
    Qualifications

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Current Real Estate Certificate of Registration/Full Licence (in at least one Australian state with the ability to obtain mutual recognition in other states)
  • Extensive expertise in real estate sales procedures and property management, supported by a minimum of 8-10 years of industry experience
  • Strong understanding of real estate legislation, regulatory compliance and industry standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective planning, organisational skills and problem-solving skills to manage pressure situations, multiple tasks and ability to work with a sense of urgency.
