Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Community College of Aurora, under the leadership of Dr. Mordecai Ian Brownlee, the sixth president of CCA, has established an Office of Strategic Communications to usher the institution into the next era of internal (student/employees) and external (community/partners/donors/alumni) communications, publicity, promotion, advertising, marketing, and branding efforts.
The Director of Strategic Communications and Special Initiatives position will report directly to the Chief of Staff and will lead the development and implement work-flow processes within the Division of Strategic Communications and special projects or initiatives for the President Office as assigned. This role will manage and prioritize a large volume of complex projects and own the critical project path from timeline development through final delivery ensuring flow of resources and deliverables and driving on-time completion. The purpose of this new role is to provide focus on projects/events/initiatives to identify details, and to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree
- Training and Development in Project Management
- Experience coordinating/managing and tracking multiple simultaneous projects and priorities.
- Demonstrated excellent communication, collaboration and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
- Experience setting priorities, meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal and external constituents.
- Experiencing working with vendors to secure a good or service.
- Experience using project management related software and processes for tracking towards project completion
- Experience providing budget management and/or making purchases in compliance with state and fiscal rules.
- Experience and an ability to develop systems, processes, and work flows for efficiency
