Coulson Aviation operates with a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With our fleet, we can run rapid aerial fire suppression, including initial attack and extended attack protocols.
Coulson Aviation is a part of the Coulson Group of companies. We are a growing organization that has been in business for 65 years.
Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire an experienced Director of Supply Chain.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least ten years in progressively more responsible managerial roles in a Supply Chain role in a manufacturing environment, with at least five years in a leadership role within the aerospace industry.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or registration in the educational program of the Supply Chain Management Association is desirable.
  • At least five years’ experience as a Purchasing Agent or Officer.
  • At least five years’ experience leading a team in shipping, receiving, purchasing, procurement.
  • Experience in the aviation or manufacturing industry.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organized, detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks.
  • Understanding of e-business and procurement systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-faceted business

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the purchasing activities of the Stores Department.
  • Develop purchasing policies and procedures, and control purchasing department budget.
  • Co-ordinate, assign, and review the work of personnel engaged in the following duties:
  • shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventories of materials, parts and products;
  • processing purchasing transactions; coordinating production work;
  • dispatching crews; scheduling transportation crews and routes;
  • operating airport ramp servicing vehicles;
  • and other related activities.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics, establish work schedules and procedures, resolve work-related issues, prepare and submit progress and other reports, and co-ordinate activities with other supply-chain work units or departments.
  • Identify and evaluate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and maintain the Company’s Approved Vendors List.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, shortages, and quality issues.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products. or substitute materials.
  • Review and process claims against suppliers.
  • Interview and hire personnel and oversee staff training.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure all Stores-related activities are performed in accordance with the requirements of the QA manual and are carried out in a timely fashion.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to drive innovation in supply chain practices.
  • Ensure orders and shipments are initiated when required.
  • Advise the Manufacturing Manager of any abnormal order requests.
  • Advise the Manufacturing Manager of materials and parts received that are unserviceable due to abnormal circumstances.
  • Arrange aeronautical product production by contracted companies in accordance with the QA Manual requirements. Keep Manufacturing Manager apprised of these arrangements and include all details.
  • Ensure certification records and information systems meet the QA Manual requirements and maintain these accordingly.
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensure inventory counts are done on a scheduled basis and that stock discrepancies are resolved.
  • Ensure sufficient inventories are available to support forecasted production activities.
  • Maintain a Quarantine Stores.
  • Develop Stores systems once authorized by the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Secure Stores areas and control access.
  • Maintain proper level of General Safety.
  • Report any occurrences that may be required to be reported as an SDR.
