Description:

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Reports to: Chief Sales Officer
Work Location: 6160 Commander Parkway, Norfolk VA 23502

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Training will design, plan, and implement corporate training programs aligned with the objective and strategy of the company. The Director will collaborate with functional leaders/management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established training programs. The Director will oversee a team of trainers to ensure efficiency and consistency of training between all classes. The role will effectively educate and support trainers through their experience by auditing classes, coaching trainers, and developing new programs. The Director will update training materials to fit company needs and directions of the CSO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or another related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a focused training role
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external team members
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of google suite platforms
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize own workload
  • Ability to manage a team of 7-10 trainers
  • Ability to implement KPIs as required with a strong understanding of business goals and objectives
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and engage sales employees
  • Employee focused approach with adaptability to new situations

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position will require employees to work in a call center/office environment. Employees will be exposed to sounds and noise levels at various levels, over-head lighting, computer monitor lighting, and will be able to work near other people.

Responsibilities:

DIVISION OF DUTIES:

  • 25% Develop, execute, and maintain new and existing training program materials
  • 25% Coach, lead, manage, and develop trainers
  • 25% Collaborate with various departments to identify areas of improvement

JOB DUTIES:

As a Director of Training you will develop training programs and oversee all training operations. In this leadership role the successful candidate will mentor and support trainers while collaborating and communicating efficiently to ensure compliance and quality along with continuous improvements organizationally.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and update training materials and modules
  • Identify training needs using assessments, interviews, and surveys
  • Oversee training staff and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Align all training aspects with company goals
  • Evaluate training effectiveness
  • Manage the training budget and forecast reports for senior executives
  • Mentor trainers through performance reviews and feedback
  • Provide guidance on training delivery and trainee interaction
  • Foster a positive work culture and implement incentives for trainers
  • Coordinate with department managers to identify and improve training gaps
  • Communicate company standards and goals in team meetings and 1:1 sessions
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to enhance training programs
  • Conduct regular audits for compliance
  • Ensure training equips trainees to handle diverse customer interactions
  • Monitor trainer progress and facilitate skill development
  • Review and improve training practices and processes
  • Develop training materials to support ongoing learning and development
  • Availability for occasional travel
