Description:

Overview:
Designs and implements the operational processes that support DH policy development and oversight. Responsible for communicating, educating, supporting processes, and survey participation to ensure compliance with the DH Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and oversees a systematic institutional process for the creation, revision, approval, maintenance, and distribution of standardized evidence-based and/or best practice-based policies and procedures across the DH system.
  • Communicates system-wide expectations regarding policies and procedures to senior leaders, employees, physicians, and other covered individuals.
  • Implements and oversees the conflict of interest disclosure process using the disclosure management software system.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of educational materials, workshops, newsletters, memos, and other venues regarding the policy and procedure development, management process, and conflict of interest program for senior leaders, employees, physicians, and other covered individuals.
  • Interfaces with the policy management and conflict of interest software vendor for implementation and ongoing problem solving. Monitors and communicates compliance rates to departmental, sectional, and organizational leadership.
  • Provides counsel and advice to senior leadership, clinical staff, other employees on matters related to the development of organizational policies and issues pertaining to conflict of interest.
  • Monitors developments and changes in laws and regulations that affect the Organizational Policies and Procedures and Organizational COI programs. Communicates findings to senior leadership, Board of Trustees, and other organizational leadership
  • Coordinates logistics for the DH Conflict of Interest Steering and Organizational Ethics Committees. Maintains records and minutes as well as support presentations and reports to both committees.
  • Plans and manages the program budget.
  • Supervises the OPS and the COI staff, ensuring performance meets applicable professional standards.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration or related field with 10 years of experience in healthcare (with 5 years of those years of experience in healthcare project management and supervising employees) or the equivalent in education and experience required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in health care processes, (clinical, business and compliance) is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, project management skills and independent decision-making capabilities are essential.
  • Must have the ability to work on matters of high sensitivity and confidentiality with diplomacy and discretion.
  • Academic Medical Center experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills required, with the ability to effectively engage with others and work as a team to meet common organizational, clinical and business goals.
  • The successful candidate will have familiarity with health care clinical and business operations.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  • Certifications or advanced knowledge in related disciplines, CPA, RN, CHC, JD preferred.
  • Project management certification preferred.
