SALARY RANGE

100,000/100 000 - 157,500/157 500
The Base Pay range is for the primary location of the job. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.

Responsibilities:

  • Liquidity Management and Reporting: You will spearhead the management of critical processes, including derivative collateral, pledging compliance, credit derivative usage, repo/reverse repo/securities lending program usage, and global cash management, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams and flawless execution.
  • Business Analytics and Reporting: You will lead the development and enhancement of client portfolio-wide value-add business analytics, leveraging in-house tools to support daily portfolio management decision making and deliver exceptional client deliverables.
  • Investment Strategy and Optimization: You will serve as a trusted advisor, providing unparalleled investment expertise and visionary strategic guidance to assist in investment strategy reviews across Sun Life’s business groups (across non-Par/Par Insurance Contracts, Investment Contracts, Surplus), ensuring alignment with SLC’s cutting-edge capabilities and resources. You will ensure a consistent, best-in-class (customized for Sun Life) optimization approach is used across all portfolios and ensure asset allocation changes are actionable. You will also help coordinate and communicate impactful, industry-leading trading initiatives and programs.
  • Surplus and General Portfolio Management: You will help coordinate discussions and ensure seamless alignment on centralized surplus investment strategies, driving unparalleled consistency in decision-making and actions across Sun Life’s legal entities. Tactically, you will help monitor portfolio positioning among key downstream surplus stakeholders, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Board and Senior Management Reporting and Planning: You will lead the quarterly process for reporting SLC investment performance to the Governance, Investment and Sustainability Committee (GISC), and lead the annual business and strategic planning activities related to asset supply. You will monitor FVOCI (AFS) gains globally, Expected Investment Earnings/Unrealized Trading Gains, and credit experience, and ensure clear communication of variance versus Investment Plan to senior SLC Leaders.
  • Other Responsibilities: Manage key Portfolio Management activities related to the Canada Mortgage Bond securitization program, participate in various ad-hoc and strategic projects, and mentor and develop junior SLC resources, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and excellence.
