About this role:
Directly lead a team of 6-8 researchers within the Human Resources practice and contribute to the delivery of high-impact research for human resources leaders. The Director, Team Manager is a senior member of the team in the Practice, coaching and guiding researchers to create differentiated, actionable content to support CHROs, L&D leaders, and Heads of Talent Management.

What you will do:

  • Lead and develop a team of researchers to create great content across several key initiatives and multiple content types including signature studies, case studies, toolkits, and benchmarking analysis
  • Work with research associates to develop provocative and pragmatic ideas to support development of content storylines that cross key initiatives and topics including: Learning and Development; Talent and Performance Management; and Leader and Manager Effectiveness.
  • Oversee and coach research teams’ secondary research, surveys and phone interviews with executives, academics, and industry experts to identify their most pressing challenges, discover best practices, and develop research products around them
  • Manage performance and create effective group norms for a collaborative culture focused on continuous innovation, content excellence, and employee development
  • Work collaboratively with research and content leaders to direct resources and ensure on-time and high-quality fulfillment of research content.
  • Provide clear and constructive edits to documents and presentations to ensure quality deliverables for clients and skill development for researchers
  • Foster an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion and engagement on our team and drive Gartner’s commitment to DE&I throughout all aspects of the business: hiring practices, associate development, client service and community support.

What you will need

  • A Bachelor’s degree; Masters preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for coaching and guiding researchers to create excellent content.
  • Prior experience coaching, managing and/or developing high performing individuals and teams.
  • Project management experience with the ability to mentor and coach members on the research team.
  • Proven competence for meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and managing work under ambiguous/uncertain circumstances.
  • Experience conducting primary and secondary research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data for pattern recognition.
  • Experience converting qualitative and quantitative information into clear frameworks, narratives and visually compelling presentations.
  • Collaboration and consensus building skills.
  • Leadership experience in dynamic, agile environments that are highly matrixed and evolving.
  • Be a Talent Developer who acts as a talent magnet to recruit, coach, and develop talent within Gartner Research. Demonstrated experience in connecting, career pathing, and managing individuals to achieve success.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 116,000 USD - 164,220 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
