QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor s degree from an approved school of Respiratory Care
- New Jersey Respiratory Therapist license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist, (RRT) required
- Credentials issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification
- Minimum of 5-7 years clinical experience in respiratory therapy
- 2-5 years of progressive leadership experience
Preferred:
- Master s degree in an appropriate field of study
- PALS certification
- Experience inclusive of pediatrics and/or neonates
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leadership
- Demonstrates effectiveness in directing and in the development and implementation of clinical programs, staffing protocols and therapeutic methods and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient services developed
- Establishes and enforces written policies and procedures for provision of all Department services
- Reviews and revises annually and as needed
- Continually strives to meet the identified needs of the users of Department services
- Demonstrates effective customer service and addresses all complaints
- Works with supervisors and staff to resolve issues
- Communicates with others to ensure resolution
- Responsible for oversight of direct reports (e.g. respiratory manager, supervisors and other respiratory leaders)
- Development
- Demonstrates commitment to managerial development through participation in meetings, committee membership and continuing education
- Acts as an educational resource and is available to Department staff, Medical and Nursing staff and other interested parties
- Supports staff and supervisory development through Hospital, System and outside educational offerings
- Acts as a mentor as appropriate
- Actively seeks input from physicians, nursing, patients and other users to determine Department performance
- Incorporates information into improvement plans

- Ensures staffing is appropriate to meet patient care needs and support service functions
- Effectively participates with professional staff members of other Hospital services to coordinate services, educational opportunities or support needs
