WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a dedicated Director for our Sell Business Unit to join the Zendesk team in Lisbon, Portugal. This is an outstanding opportunity to be at the forefront of a strategic partnership with Persistent, our managed service provider, who will own Engineering and GTM operations for Zendesk’s Sell business. As the directly responsible individual (DRI), you will lead initiatives to integrate and optimize operations, ensuring that Sell achieves its performance targets. You’ll work closely with collaborators across both organizations to drive the success of Zendesk’s Sell business. You will report into the Corporate Development team, as an incubation hub.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Act as a DRI for the Sell business, coordinating daily interactions and operations between Zendesk and Persistent to ensure seamless integration.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Persistent partnership
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, across ProdDev and GTM, to support collaboration and overall success of Sell
  • Act autonomously while coordinating across Zendesk and Persistent organizations to resolve problems
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Persistent relationship and Sell business, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon service level agreements and important metrics.
  • Sit on, and lead, the Executive Committee that governs the relationship between Zendesk and Persistent
  • Serve as the main contact for all communication and critical issues between Zendesk and Persistent
  • Manage the financial aspects of the partnership, including reporting and payment for revenue sharing, P&L management, cloud cost understanding, and other special projects as necessary.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive business strategies
  • Excellent data analysis skills, as well as systems-level awareness and thinking
  • Foster and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with collaborators, including both external and internal teams.
  • Experience working with engineering and product management teams
  • Strong communication & writing skills (both written communications & presentation skills), with demonstrated ability to influence
  • Demonstrated success working across diverse teams and geographies, with the ability to synthesize what may appear to be competing priorities
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and apply structured approaches/methodologies to projects
  • Strong Google Suite & slide skills
  • SaaS business model and Zendesk product knowledge are a plus
