Job Description
MKTG Sports + Entertainment is looking for a Director of Sponsorship Consulting with expertise in women’s sports. In this exciting role, you will shape partnership strategy, activation, and rightsholder management for brands with a focus on women’s professional basketball. Your knowledge of the leagues, teams, players, and trends in professional women’s basketball will allow you to create standout programs.
You will report into the Vice President and lead a skilled team of marketers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 + years of experience working in the women’s sports sponsorship or marketing space and experience working across brand partnerships in the women’s basketball space (professional women’s basketball, USA Basketball, college basketball)
  • Knowledge of how brands are activating and collaborating in the women’s sports space, trends in the sports/basketball space, how players/teams/leagues are using social media channels to promote and collaborate
  • An understanding of the sponsorship industry and experience working on high-profile sponsorship programs involving properties such as the WNBA, NWSL, NFL, NASCAR, NBA, MLS, PGA TOUR, NHL, USOC, and MLB (not including sales, operations, or athlete management experience), and high-profile Entertainment properties
  • Experience presenting high-level sponsorship concepts to senior client leaders
  • Knowledge of and experience with the full marketing mix, social media, content marketing, influencer approaches, and marketing promotions
  • Produce creative solutions to business and marketing challenges facing clients
  • 25% Travel is required
    Additional Information
    The anticipated base salary range for this position is $78,000-$126,500. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. The company’s incentive compensation plan is subject to change. Responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated strategic solutions that address client marketing and business goals
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of client business and competitive landscape
  • Lead junior teams to build sponsorship planning and activations
  • Conduct regular communication and collaboration with clients, rightsholders and other client roster agencies to ensure the best solutions
  • Collaborate with sanctioning bodies and rightsholders to help develop outstanding marketing partnerships
  • Write and present client-ready presentations and deliverables, including detailed sponsorship activation plans, POV documents, and landscape analyses
  • Maintain oversight on activation programming including overall annual and per-event budgeting
  • Understand project budgets and manage costs while following both client and internal guidelines
