JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and proven leader to spearhead the innovative design and implementation of a compelling Storytelling Marketing program within the Customer Experience Marketing organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing compelling visual and written content that enhances customer engagement, increases brand awareness, and drives demand. This role is integral to shaping NetApp’s narrative through various channels including messaging, blogs, media partnership content, customer stories, video, web, and social content. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver content that resonates with our audience and amplifies our strategic brand and business impact messages.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Create innovative visual storytelling content that sets the market standard
  • Develop cornerstone content to drive traffic to priority journey hubs and solution pages
  • Prioritize content resources for key areas such as Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, AI, Sustainability, Cloud, Executive Briefings, and STEM initiatives
  • Establish and maintain standards for new customer content stories using a modular approach
  • Act as a “Story Hunter” to uncover overlooked stories and anticipate future trends
  • Build a modular content system integrated with NetApp Nation and focused on business impact campaigns
  • Develop self-serve content technology and systems to support sales and marketing partners
  • Design user-generated content programs and processes for integration across all marketing channels
  • Create storytelling enablement resources for end-users to enhance content creation
  • Establish criteria and manage storytelling vendors, ensuring unified quality and messaging

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

  • 15+ years of experience in direct customer content creation, multimedia asset development, agency and team management, data tracking integration, technology development and creative development
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform content strategies
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful storytelling strategies
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a creative team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with video production software and tools
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and innovation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
