Job Description :
Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development and working closely with senior executives across the organization, the Director, Strategy and Corporate Development facilitates and defines the overall corporate strategy process as well as scopes, analyzes and resolves key strategic issues, using a data-driven approach. Key accountabilities include:
- Manage the annual strategy cycle across the entire company
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management by clearly communicating insights and recommendations to support business decisions
- Lead end-to-end strategic initiatives such as cross-functional business cases, deep dives on strategic threats or opportunities, and other similar initiatives with a strategic impact on business
- Play a key role in the coaching, development and performance management of analysts and managers in the strategy and corporate development team
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in management / strategy consulting, or strategy-related roles within a large, fast-paced organization
- Experience with coordination of the strategic planning cycle
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry would be an asset
SPECIFIC SKILLS
- A self-starter with a high level of autonomy and the ability to thrive in an constantly evolving environment
- Proven track record of leading project teams in the context of strategic initiatives, M&A transactions and other fast-paced initiatives
- Strong analytical skills, solid attention to detail and problem solving abilities
- Proven knowledge of and experience coordinating enterprise strategy processes
- Intellectual curiosity in learning about the company’s operations, industry and technology
- Strong thought leadership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to lead in a matrix working environment and develop effective relationships across the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively synthesize and present information to relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
- Advanced computer skills required in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with executives across the company as a thought partner to help strengthen the quality of their strategies and plans
- Lead end-to-end strategic initiatives such as cross-functional business cases to support large investments, deep dives on strategic threats or opportunities, and other similar initiatives with a strategic impact on business
- Manage the overall annual strategic cycle across Cogeco, including:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the annual strategy and long-range planning process and designing key interactions to support both the creation of strategic plans and annual operating plans.
- Coordinate activities across all business units to deliver the company’s annual strategy review
- Help ensure people leaders and their teams across the organization understand our strategy and can link their objectives to overall organizational priorities
- Monitor and report on progress against the strategic plan on a quarterly basis
- Help the leadership team stay current on key industry trends and developments; be in a position to source new strategic initiatives for the team
- Develop executive-level reports, recommendations and presentations to help facilitate decision making at the senior management and Board of Director levels
- Coordinate delivery of ad-hoc analysis to support senior executive and board decision making
