Your Opportunity: This is your opportunity to join the Department of State Development and Infrastructure (DSDI) to think ahead and act now to secure responsible economic development, safe workplaces and liveable communities.The Strategy, Insights and Advisory (SIA) business group within DSDI coordinates all key matters across the Minister’s portfolio responsibilities and all touch points between the Minister’s office, the department and portfolio entities. Each team member actively seeks out solutions that will help DSDI deliver on its targets. You will lead and contribute to a positive working environment and culture upholding SIA’s values of respect, integrity and accountability.As the Director - Strategy, Communications and Media you contribute to the Strategic Communications team by providing a comprehensive Communications and Media skillset and a talent for Strategy. You will oversee the planning, development and implementation of strategies and communication activities to achieve the department’s objectives and have impact on Queensland’s future.
You will also manage the department’s reputation and provide context and consistency to all communication messaging through both proactive and reactive media outputs. The team you lead will build deep and trusted relationships with key stakeholders and you will help them thrive in their work.Are you right for this role?To be successful in this role you must demonstrate the following skills and experience: - Leading a team delivering high impact, strategic communications plans across a broad and complex portfolio of Government.- Providing strategic advice to SES stakeholders.- Overseeing a media function and the relationships between that function and significant stakeholders.- Undertaking strategic assessment of content, media and other communication opportunities to build DSDI’s reputation and brand.- Establishing and maintain strategic relationships with key department staff, broader government and industry stakeholders including Ministerial Media Advisors, senior departmental communication officers and senior industry representatives.- Fostering a culture where high-performing, thriving staff deliver quality, insightbased, impactful work.- Proactively facilitate whole-of-communications team collaborations to achieve successful delivery of strategic outcomes.- Identify ways to support a cohesive branch, including the development of a positive team culture and collaborative relationships where team members enjoy coming to work, are appropriately skilled and challenged, and understand the contributions their role plays in the success of business objectives.Benefits of working with SIA: By joining SIA you will work within a fast-paced, challenging and supportive environment where every employee plays a critical role in our ongoing success.
